Any reviews on throttle body spacers for Tacos? Looking at the Airaid PowerAid Throttle Body Spacer but I don't want to spend the money unless it'll yield a pretty significant performance boost... thoughts?

From what I have read they don't do anything besides look cool and make more induction noise on the 3.4 and 4.0 V6 engines.

Spend the money on a steak dinner.
Same results in performance, but you will be much happier.
If still in doubt, on ur way home......roll down the window and make whistling noises.

Thats my review after i was GIVEN an airraid spacer for shits and grins.

    I then shitcanned it

Maybe I am crazy, but I put the afe TBS on mine and seem to be getting better mpg's and seems to hold sixth gear easier than before. Haven't had it on long enough to be 100% sure yet. If I am right though, it in the end is worth the $125 in my opinion. Also, with the afe, I don't hear that dreaded whistle. But maybe that's just me!

If anything youre losing power from extra weight, general consensus around the world is they do not work. Reminds me of those 80 dollar as seen on t.v. intake inserts that look cheap as hell and claim all kinds of benefits, where is that company now, lol.

Is this why there are so many turnaders in Oklahoma?

Lol!, you got it! my brain forgot turdnato or um tornado. More like turdnato, my grandpa made one and swore he got better mileage he worked for Ford on assemblyline over 50 years ago, he pulled it out later and then changed his mind. Good ol guy.

@KTJO 4x4 has these. Maybe she can chime in. I watched numerous car expert youtube videos that all said same thing...our direct injected engines dont benefit from this mod.

I worked with Airaid on the development of their TBS and saw real life data on the dyno, there wasn't any performance or fuel economy gained by adding it.

Good thread! We spent a coupe days on the dyno at Airaid's r&d facility here in Phoenix and ran a ton of different configurations. Intake saw some small increases in HP but not much. Throttle body spacer didn't improve anything, at all. As for exhaust, I am running the TRD cat back and in my opinion, it's the only exhaust that sounds good on our trucks. Performance wise, no increase either. And to date, development on the 3.5l supercharger is not going well. Turns out that adding boost to these Atkinson Cycle engines is proving to be quite the challenge and a few motors have gone "boom" in the process. Gears have been the best thing I've done in the performance department so far.

Ya my magnaflow sounds great at low speeds and highway but at stop light take offs its incredibly loud inside. Maybe cause i dumped exhaust who knows but im keeping it for now as outside its not too loud to the public. Thanks for input i agree gears are in top 3 best mods for sure. Thanks

Care to elaborate? Why does having the intake valve slightly open during compression cause issues? I thought Atkinson would be advantageous overcoming detonation from the high compression ratio of the 2GR-FKS.
