Oil in the coolant, blowing white smoke, misfires, etc.

@TechnoTy What engine do you have? If it were me I'd just replace the engine rather than do a headgasket job on an older high mileage engine and just run your current one until it blows the hg. If you really want to do it, go ahead. It's going to be time consuming and expensive to get all oem gaskets etc. You might as well replace vacuum hoses and coolant hoses as well if you're dipping into the money pit that deep. @gunny1005 will get you the best prices on oem parts that you can't find in a kit like the timing belt kit.

Here's a little preview of a hg job if you have a 5vz - doing both at the same time wouldn't be a whole lot more work. Still a huge job. Swapping out the engine for a newer low mileage one is only on transmission pull and a few bolts and electrical connectors away ;)

Pulling the heads off is a much more involved process past what you need to do to get to the timing belt. Unless it is blown I wouldn't worry about it.

Wow thanks for responding!! My valve cover gasket is leaking oil pretty bad but I don't think the head gasket is bad . No oil in the coolent . I wanna do as much maintenance as possible. It's the 5vz-fe
Runs fine just high mileage. Timing belt is a must and I'd like to do the valve cover gasket. What else would you suggest? I'm an electrician not a mechanic lol thanks for your time

Follow this and while the valve covers are off, replace the PCV valve and grommet.

@gunny1005 can get you the best prices on everything you need.
