    I wanted to bump and post this article from NASA. Earlier in this thread, I had posted about some alternative theories by electrical engineers and scientists. Initially, the Electric Universe theory meets a lot of skepticism, however it is interesting to note that recent studies have given some credence to these theories I posted about 3 years ago.

    The bolded part has been answered by the NASA article, of why we don't see any indication of massive electric scarring on our planet. It's due to our magnetosphere. Since Mars no longer has one, I can see how the electrical shocks that would be experienced on Phobos can be scaled up on a larger celestial body.
