Hello All! Newbie here to the forum. I own a 2016 DCLB (first taco, long time waiting!). Recently, dealer has offered to purchase my 16 back since they are opening up a used lot and want some premium inventory. Wasnt really considering this, but with the 18's around the corner - it has me thinking.

Main question, for those of you that have owned a DCLB Vs. a DCSB, is there any driving differentiation you notice?

    thanks for your time!

Turning radius is the main issue since the DCSB has a smaller tighter turning radius.

    BTW Welcome to TW

thanks - i understand there might not be much other than preference / space. with my DCLB i realize I have only maximized the bed a handful of times. most use my taco for road trips loadin it up with camping, cooking & ski/MTB gear. Any other thoughts appreciated!

I'd stick with longer bed, just my .02, turning radius can't be that much more. I was in the market for LB in my area, found 1 blk/grey 2017 v6 sr5 dclb that was 35k OTD, then found 2017 blk/blkwred v6 sr5 dcsb for much less 32k OTD, so I went with a better deal, and just sucked it up with sb. no regrets.....better interior makes up for it....

i hear ya - my challenge is also that i have a next to new cap i put on my LB. so if i trade ill have to sell my ARE MX with all the bells and whistles... i live closer to a city area with road tripping up north each week for fun truck use, and still think a SB would do the trick & i might prefer this size over time...

I actually prefer the looks of the 3rd gen sport rims over the OR.

I wish I could go back and get a long bed. I bet you would wish you had the LB later on! Welcome to the forum though!

    stock (for now)
I have a shortbed and when I go to lowes and buy 8ft long pieces of lumber or plywood an extra foot would make me feel a lot more confident. If driving a long bed isn't a hassle I'd keep the long bed.

    Loose nut behind the wheel.
Welcome to TW. Long bed is just so much more versatile for outdoor stuff, imo. If you're road tripping with equipment for a range of activities, rather than wheeling really technical trails, sooner or later a SB will limit you more than the turning radius will. Plus that ARE is just awesome. The dealers want us all to trade up asap, but if your truck is problem free, I'd be hesitant to swap it for an unknown.

Welcome to TW. I personally couldn’t live with the short bed, but others love them.

all great insight - and thats what i use the LB majority for... is camping/MTB/board excursions. the ARE MX has been a super versatile tool. i have the rack systems on top, so i can also put on my rocketbox for extra space.
