I just put my lift on and the 265/70r17’s just too small looks silly. So i need to go up but gas mileage and power are a concern i will not be regearing. I tow a bass boat and a 4000 lb tent trailer. What would you all recommend. Front ome lift will be around 2.5” after settling.

Anyone running 285’s that regret it?

I don't think anyone that runs 285s regret doing so. It's a great size to fill up the wheel well on any 2nd/3rd gen Tacoma lifted 2.5-3". For the best MPGs and power, you're better off staying stock. Everything you're doing, the lift, the bigger tires, will all affect what you're mainly concern about especially if you don't plan to regear.

I think you already know the answer to your question already. There's really no way around it.

Ya Best i ever got in my 2017 dcsb was 18.3mpg. With just the lift im down to 16.4 mpg now. Once settled in lift is gonna be around 2.5 which is cutting it close to the 285’s. I am not gonna nor want to regear. The 265’s just seem so small now on it and im leaning towards 275 ko’s for 1k out the door to keep some clearance and 1-2mpg over the 285’s. I have seen some who switch back down from 285s who didnt like ot but thats few
