    Hi Gang,

New here, new to tacomas and just finished new brakes all the way around and picked up some alloy wheels. Time to address the tires. I've been reading till my eyes are about to bleed, usually just get Michelins and forget it. I'd like to actually know what people that have put a bunch of miles on their truck think of different tires. I'm pretty much always on the road, around town and highway. Thinking about Hankook Dynapro AT for price and decent reviews, But an HT might be a better choice for noise and milage... possibly yokohama geolander HT or Bridgestone dueler H/L alenza

    so many choices...

I just went through this whole dilly dally...

I've been researching and researching which tire to get..

    Wildpeaks...

    Duratracs...

    Generals..

I've finally settled on whats best for me all round... and of course its one of the most expensive...

    The BFG K02..

All the P tires I looked at I just find they aren't that tough..

The duratracs I've always loved, but the last couple sets I had balance issues and thats always a fight.. If it wasn't for this, this would be my choice hands down..

I'm booked for next weds for the BF's, so I wanna hear what else as well because I'm getting sick of this and winter is coming.. lol

Hop on the discount tire ebay promo while it's still going on until Monday. Some good deals on there.

im surprised i always see the balance issues of the duratracs on here. I have them, my father has them, and two friends also have them. All of us are problem free and completely satisfied.

Costco carries both the Michelins and the Bridgestones you can find good deals if you are a member.

You don't say where you live related to cold/snow/etc.

For your stated use of the vehicle, Michelin Defenders are a fantastic choice, even with moderate snow.

If you have heavy snow, proper winter tires on your old rims would be my choice as a second set up.

I have the Bridgestones on my 5 lug and they are perfect for my use here in Fl., and they are a nice pavement tire. Not sure how they'd do in the snow (and don't want to find out) but they are great on wet/flooded roads here, even with oil float.

you get snow! A few years ago my relatives in FL had a few flurries, that you could just see on the hoods of cars. Lasted about 5 mins and then melted. Thats the second time its happened in about 20 years to them haha.

Central Indiana, i have michelins on my Grand Cherokee... love them. I would love a more aggressive looking tire but I also feel like the taco is lacking in noise insulation as it is. I bought it just to occasionally haul things around but honestly, I really enjoy driving it and my daughter loves riding in it. I'm leaning toward Defenders or Geolander HT...

I didn’t like my General Grabbers in the ice.i had a 2000 Tacoma. I ran 31’s. Michelin LTX M/S is hard to beat if you do a lot of highway driving.Dont believe the AT’s are worth it though. My dad just put the new Goodyear All Terrain with Kevlar on his Ford.they ride nice and smooth but still have traction. Believe they put them on the Gen3 Off Road Tacos now..
