We have a total of five to look at tomorrow. I have not spent to much time in the 3rd Gen forum (mine is a 2013) Doing some crash reading tonight. Thanks for any help.

Used, I found a 2017 RED TRD sport with 14,000 miles on it for $29,900 I want to look at first. My neighbor is the used car manager at the local Toyota Dealership. He has located 5 for us to look at

Since your friend works at the dealer have him pull the service records and see how many times a particular truck was brought in and what for

This forum does not scare me I been on it long enough to weed out some of the BS.
LOL, I gave my Daughter 20K for a down payment on her house so any truck mods are on there dime.

A back step for when I get older, Carhartt seatcovers, 4Runner wheels, Topper, and "tats all folks"! --for now!!
For that much -- I would see if they have/can get a sport equally equipped and see what they would sell it for! I am guessing here but if they are financing -- you may want to see what the diff in monthly payments would be. I think the lenders give better rates on new ones?
If they insist on getting a used one -- ask the dealer if they would give you the name and number of whoever they got it from -- Could it have been in the Floods of the hurricanes? If they balk on telling you -- demand to know why not -- I would say like "what are you hiding or why are you afraid to tell me " know why it was traded -- or how they got that truck

Honestly these trucks are still so new that it really wont matter what you find, leaking diffs etc will be under the recall. Unfavorable shift points can be slightly corrected at home by disconnecting the battery watching some tv and then reconnecting. Or ovtune like mentioned above. Other than that it will be warranty or a non issue.

Kings, 275/70/17, a few custom items, lots of Meso mods.
A couple of things that I noticed on my 17 were the bed and rear bumper alignment. It's mostly noticeable on the bumper end caps and the offset and different spacing at the cab. Many came this way and easy fix for body shop. I just did mine myself.

She could not afford any thing in a safe part of town without a little help from Dad. Her LEO paycheck is a shame for what She goes through to get it. But She loves her job.
