I love my UWS. but I have a regular cab and had to have a place to throw stuff when it was raining or needed to lock it up.

I don't know if y'all have anything like it in Arizona but we have a paper called the Iwanta that you can find toolboxes and other stuff used for alot less than new. It's just hard to find one that will fit the Tacoma since most are for full size trucks.

I used to keep my knives and dip in my truck everyday when I went to school. Never really thought twice about it.

Yeah I used to have a knife on my keys but I got searched one day. Was lucky enough to be able to hide it but decided it wasn't worth the risk after that.

haha true that. Yeah I got stuff tucked away in my truck I just meant carrying stuff on you in school is pretty stupid. We got searched cuz some dumbass said he got his iPod stolen in gym. turns out he left it at home that day and forgot he took it out of his bookbag.

That is the biggest load of crap ever!!! I always had a knife in my car in high school, Kept one in my dorm in college too. Kept one on my key chain all throuch college too. Now I either carry my leatherman or a 2 inch folder just about everywhere I go unless i'm going somewhere (club, sporting event) where i know i'm going to be searched.

I mean i even went into a police station a few weeks ago with a leatherman on my belt and didn't even get a second look from any of the cops.

We had a zero tolerance rule too. We were told this in the auditorium on the first day, every year that if we brought any weapons of any kind- even little pen knives and so forth- that we would be suspended for a YEAR.That included our cars, which were also searched at random. I had carried a pocket knife all through elementary and middle school. But lord have mercy since there was this irrational fear that my high school was gonna' turn into gangland central ( yeah right- it was in the burbs) that we had to get rid of all the pocket knives.

Sure- I thought it was really stupid and I still think it doesn't really accomplish anything. But I knew the rules and I didn't bring anything to school. Two of my friends were caught at different times and they both got suspended for a year. Needless to say one flunked out of school. The other just took his GED and went to college early. So in many ways the rule was actually destructive and counterproductive.

But.... unfortunately rules are rules and if you're on someone else's turf and they say you can't do something, then you'd better not do it, no matter how dumb you think the rule might be.

I always carried multiple knives in my truck and some days a machete and an axe if i was planning on going wheeling. they never bothered us but one morning one of my friends got up early and went hunting before school well he got one so he brought it to school and gutted and butchered it in the student parking lot. the admins were so happy needless to say but they didnt say anything about his bow or knife they just didnt like the blood all over the parking lot. O and this was just last year. they realized there were a lot more harmful things going in that school like all the drugs. I still think its dumb

Yeah, my friend in high school drove his dads work truck to school because his car had broken down. They had the drug dogs out searching cars that day, and they called him out of class because there was different chemicals in his truck. Like stain, paint remover, work stuff...and they also found a buck knife that was in the back of the truck. So his dad had to come up and claim the truck.

That same day, another one of my friends got searched because there was a bunch of spent beer cans in the bed of his truck. His dad had taken it out the previous night without telling my buddy, so HIS dad too had to come up and claim that they were his beer cans.

And whats funny is, both of these guys are COMPLETE nerds and never drank in high school at ALL! and they got in trouble for that. haha

And I always keep a knife in my truck. I have several, from work knifes to box cutters. They never gave me trouble about it. Why the hell should you get in trouble for that?

Same here! The thing is that out of all the people who were probably the most likely to cause trouble- none of them ever got in trouble. It was always something stupid, like someone with a nail file that had a tiny little knife, or a pen knife or whatnot. My friend's Dad actually went to the school and told the principal he was a dumbass and left.

I did it again. Got tired of paying truck payments and gas and traded in for a 2015 Honda Accord Sport since I enjoyed my 2013 Sport so much.
