Got the timing belt done, most of the exhaust, cleaned and painted the underside of the cab and if today goes well I'll get the cab back on the frame.

Question for you all. I'm in the midst of doing a coolant drain and flush. I believe my system holds a bit over 10 qts. I thought I would make up ahead of time a 50-50 mix of the Toyota Red and water. Now I'm thinking that after the final drain there will just be water left in the system and if I fill it back up with the 50-50 mixture it won't be 50-50 depending on how much water was still in there. Could be as much as a gallon.

So to insure I end up with a 50-50 mix, would I be better off to fill with 5 qts of undiluted Toyota Red first and then top off with water?

That's the way I would do it. Especially if you refill with straight water, run and drain again.

Thanks Jon, after the initial drain I ran thru some cleaner and drained again. Now I'm going to do 2 more cycles of water, run and drain to insure the system is rid of the cleaner and old antifreeze before final fill up.

Did this a few months back. Upgraded battery terminals. It's much easier now to add an accessory with the available openings on each terminal. Looks messy, but it's all secure.

Finally starting to work on damage that's garaged the since a snow wheeling trip last year.

Should I even try welding and plating or SAS it?

Found a hidden water bar while carrying to much speed that was hidden in several feet of snow. I went vertical and came right back down. Proceeded to limp it 50 miles back home. Sketchiest drive ever.

    Holy cap man....
The problem I see with welding and plating would be pulling the frame rails back together straight... if u dont, the alignment will never be correct. Technically it's totalled with frame damage like that. I'd SAS the bitch at his point

Hi-lift lol. Yea, I don't know. With the way those members are curved and welded together, plating would be a bitch. I have an '85 pickup project that was going to be my straight axle wheeler, but I'm thinking of trying to trade it one tons for this.

I want to try something different so I ordered some wheels. I like my wheels like my women cheap and traditional. So the American Racing AR23 in machine finish it is.

I was going to order them from Tire Rack, but the shipping was a huge nope. Bought on Amazon and saved $115 sign of the times I guess

Anyone know of a replacement vent window mechanism for the xtracab? Preferably steel or aluminum?

Added towing mirrors off an old f250 I pulled at the junkyard yesterday while looking for a parking brake. No front end parts though unfortunately, the previous owner hit a deer.
