    Hello,

I began really needing a truck and my car was not cutting it... I had always wanted to try out a F150 but...could not bear risking the reliability. I went to Carmax just to check out what trucks they had, none really interested me. I went to the dealership and test drove the 2017 SR5 V6 AT and they were alright but either so stripped down or fitted with crazy packages and extras. Really hard to find a Tacoma built the way I was looking for, SR5 AC V6 white or black exterior. Turns out it's really hard to get new AC or even AC in general especially for V6, is this true for people everywhere??

I ended up visiting 2 dealerships and Carmax twice. On my second visit to Carmax a truck caught my eye while we were browsing and the awesome associate at Carmax transferred it for me. It seemed too good to be true. I ended up buying it after test driving it, did end up settling for a double cab though...

    Full Rundown(afaik lol):
    2015 Super White Tacoma SR5 DC SB V6 4x4 26k Miles
Upgraded Eye lid thing(what is this actually called?)
    Front Battering Ram(same question)
    N Fab Step Bars
    Powdercoated Stock Rims
    Bridgestone Dueler P265/65R17 110S
    Mud flaps
    Bed Cover
Flowmaster Dual Exhaust(anyone know how I can tell which one it is?)
    Roof Rack
    Custom aftermarket Katzkin TRD Leather
    Aftermarket Keyless:)confused:)

I have a few questions if anyone would be able to answer that would be really appreciated and a great help!

The car seems to be great and is a real joy to drive but the aftermarket key fob acts strangely sometimes. Do the 2015 SR5's not come with a remote controlled key? Previous owner installed an aftermarket key fob and when I got the keys they did not have the Toyota logo on them. It came with 2 manual keys, looked like valet keys no Toyota logo on them, and one automatic key fob with none of the buttons working, also no Toyota logo. I think the previous owner may have been in the process of upgrading his system to totally keyless? However now I just have a key fob that locks and unlocks doors automatically if I am standing next to the vehicle for prolonged periods of time; i.e. unloading at the job site, grocery shopping, etc. The keys have no label on it, I cannot tell what company manufactures it...Carmax did not know about this upgrade until I was about to receive the vehicle so they set up a repair order for me. Hoping to get it fixed on Monday. Does anyone know if they can just replace it to OEM? I am guessing there's a box affixed somehow that causes the keyless to work maybe they can just wire the original wires back together?

Previous owner had also prewired something to next to the rearview mirror, it looks like it's a mini USB plug maybe for radar or GPS?

Is there anyway I could tell if the Flowmaster is installed correctly? Does it need to have been a full catback kit for it to have dual exhaust? I am stoked about it, the sound is awesome but I would love to know just to be sure I know what was previously done to the vehicle. Previous owner put a lot of quality parts into the car so I am hoping it was all installed well(roof rack and key fob especially)

I am a big fan of Pandas and the color scheme was perfect too! :broccoli:
Now where is the closest trail to LA that I can test this baby out at!:kona:

Curious as to what you all think!

Awesome back story but I'm impressed, tested a 3rd gen, bought "sight unseen" a 2nd gen... Years tested of substantial reliability do seal the deal, even if that meant nothing when buying lol

Though credit is due, 3rd gens still look better stock than any color, model, etc, 2nd gen, I do admit, expect maybe a a lifted RC, sexy beasts.
