Spas-12 is a fine weapon. They are short money. Keeps right up with a Benelli and women throw themselves at you at the range.;)

Ha! If only that statement were true in its entirety then it would be well worth the price.

I had one...I bought it for $700 sold it for $1000, neat in concept...PIA to clean, little to zero replacement parts at the time...this may have changed but still more of a novelty than practical...

Spas 12 project has some newly made parts. I really like it, all I replaced were the buffer and stock shock absorber and put a titanium firing pin in it.
They are worth more as parts than complete.

The Benelli Nova or Supernova(if you're willing to pay a little extra for the features and versatility) get my vote. It's a little noisy(rattles), but the thing is just bomb proof reliable. And if you've ever taken a shotgun course, you'll know the value of the magazine lock button on the forearm. Super underrated gun.

Semi auto for bling and competition, pump for home defense. If you're aiming your shots, you won't notice a huge difference between a semi auto and a pump with some practice.

Has anyone tried the Rem Tac 14 or Mossberg Shockwave?
Technically a firearm not a shotgun.

I've got a Mossberg 500A that I've had for 20 years, still use it for hunting. It was pretty cheap and still works great. Would recommend.

I picked up a Remington 870 Wingmaster for sub-$500 used at a pawn shop in OC. It was made in the 70's, but is still cycles buttery smooth, and looks/feels really nice too. A definite step up from my brother-in-laws Mossy 500. Not that he has a bad gun by any means, the Remington is just more refined.

I don't know if I replied to this thread or not, but over the last few years I have been slowly been getting into waterfowl hunting. I used a Moss. 835 ultimag pump that I bought a new choke for that would accept steel shot. It did the job well and I didn't need to go out and buy a new gun. Well I fell in love with waterfowl and decided to purchase a waterfowl specific shotgun. After doing a lot of research and talking to a few guys I decided on the Beretta A400. The friends that I have own it and they loved it. I had the opportunity to give it a test run last week and a local sporting clays course, I couldn't have been happier. The gun shoots incredible and had zero issues cycling the low brass target ammo I was shooting. The gun is light, hardly kicks due to it being an autoloader and it has a built in buffer system in the stock. The price tag is a little steep $1440 but to me it was totally worth it.

I wouldn't buy a newer 870. I was going to buy one last winter, but almost every gun forum I was on said the quality has gone to shit on them in the last few years. If you can get an older one, I would do that before I bought a new one. Best bang for the buck would be Mossberg 500 or 590. IMO

I bought one of these instead:

And put a 7rd titanium tube on it. It now can hold 7+1 2 3/4 shells, 9 total if I ghost load.

People can say what they want about the M4, it is overpriced I agree, but it's pretty much indestructible and tons of fun to shoot. Reliability isn't an issue with Benelli either, you get what you pay for. You can hand strip the entire gun, stock and all, in 30 seconds. Super easy to clean. I bought one because I could, and I love it.

Some people say the same thing about H&K's as well, that they are way overpriced. I'm getting me a HK45 when tax time comes. :)

    Stock and staying that way
I have the Mossberg Shockwave. It is really cool, and not terrible to shoot if you hold it correctly. Watch some youtube videos. For me the push it forward, use the bead sight, and aim a little low method works, using reduced recoil number #4 buckshot.

After having purchased 250 rounds of the #4 PMC for this firearm, I'll admit that will probably last a long time.

I have a shockwave and its actually a nice shorty shotgun. It holds a good pattern and not too bad of a kick with regular rounds.

I picked up a shockwave also got the OpSol mini-shell adaptor.
Shoots great with mini-shells and really not bad with 2 3/4".
    Great truck gun.

I have a Winchester SX3 and love it. It wasn’t cheap though, but a used one probably would be reasonable.

Its a very fast cycling semi thats very lightweight.
