Might be a dumb question but I have 0 experience with electronics...

The fuse cover is no longer needed/used? It obviously won’t fit with the tap, but curious about dust and whatnot

Fuse cover will not fit. But if you want 100% PnP, that's the way it is.
My second install option would tap behind the CIG lighter, so the fuse box would be unaltered. I'll post up a video how to install it that way...its super easy and no cutting/soldering/etc involved. Just need a set of pliers.

Got it up and running, thanks for making these!

I might switch over to cig power when you get that up. I’m a noob and like photos/videos :)

I just cut a portion out of the fuse cover and put it back on. It took two seconds. The tap in the photo isn’t being used for the ECT mod but you get the point.

You just gave me a good idea. I think I might design a stealth black "humped" fuse cover that snaps in..but still hide things such as an add-a-fuse with a hole in the back to route wires.

Good idea. Heck, add a small sleeve or cubby for extra fuses. That may also be way harder that I think it would be.

i did it using the cig power. easy just reach around and pull off the connector on the cig power and tap the mods red power line into the purple wire on the cig power then put the connector back on its prongs.

I was thinking possibly a custom kydex cover since they are easily molded.

    Ew noo gross.
Although I love kydex(I make all my holsters out of it) it wouldn't form well to the small coutures of this cover.

Well..I got one printing out right now. Will report back. Should fit all add-a fuse taps and lock closed to cover the fuses. Might even engrave all the fuse labels on it... hmm.
Dimensions down to the T like the original... just taller

You're making all the goodies? I've been running my wires to the engine bay fuse box since I will be adding a fuse block down the line.

I make whatever I feel would look like a clean/factory install. Plus I hate the ugly white fuse cover.

I agree, I would rather run all my acc to a covered isolated fuse panel in the bay.. but this would be for someone that just wants a simple 1 circuit tap and cover it

I'd prefer your Cig/Acc plug tap. I think that's a 10amp? Our trucks already have a USB port so that port doesn't even see use on mine.

IIRC the CIG is on a 15A. (same fuse I tap into down at the fuse box).
