Service, tire rotation and whatever their jillion point inspection is. Turned out to be the thin metal dust cover got bent oit somehow and the wheel weights were hitting it.

 

My guess would be they struck the wheel with a mallet to break it loose and hit the dust shield. Oh well as long as they fixed it

 

Last year I took my Tacoma to the dealer for a sluggish throttle response . it was there all day and even had two Master Techs working on it . They even did a computer diagnostic analysis on it by checking all sensors . They said everything was showing no issues or codes and they told me the problem / issue causing the sluggish throttle response was the aftermarket tire size

I told them this truck was special ordered from the factory with 265/75 16 tires and had 4.56 gears . Toyota didn't charge me for the work done

A few weeks later I had some transmission work being done on my Camaro and I drove to the shop in my truck . A tech came outside as he saw me getting out of my truck and asked me how i like my truck

I told him it felt sluggish on accel and he told me to open the hood . he looked at the throttle cable and kick down cable and said they were both way out of adjustment . I asked if he could adjust them and he did free of charge and after that the throttle response was back to normal

 

Wut??

Sounds like they bent a backing plate. If the tire falls on the plate it will bend. I do it once in a while but I check the backing plates and straighten it back. Anytime you scrape a plate you should check.
It happens, just fix it before you drop,it on the floor..

 

If they did that they have piss poor aim and even worse eyesight.

Made it 10 minutes before they closed.

 

They called me back there while the tech was making it round again and I could see where the wheel weights had hit it....no big deal. I like that they knew to get a tech over right away instead of just having the oil changers trying to find it.

 

I drive cars. I pound nails. No wonder your having problems..

I hate having bags of Halloween candy in my house .I've got (3) 250 candy count bags and already have finished off one entire bag i opened last night . at this rate of candy consumption there won't be any candy for the kids tomorrow night
