So I read an article from Backcountry on the different types of coffee making tools and ways to get your camp coffee. So what does everyone use here when out off-roading and camping?

I need to make sure I have good coffee access most mornings. Lol.

Starbucks instant packs, even though I hate Starbucks and haven't stepped foot in one of their stores in years. I just haven't found anything as convenient as the instant packs yet.

I'm a coffee snob, and I honestly just enjoy the process of making coffee in the morning. So i bring whatever coffee beans I'm into at the moment and use a GSI camp coffee grinder and GSI french press. They're both small and easy to transport anywhere.

Yall heating the water on camp stove or fire in a pot? I've seen some pretty compact looking stoves like jet boil that look pretty efficient.

I’ll second a French press for camping.

I use Starbucks instant coffee for backpacking.

They make insulated ones too so you can make a few cups and it’ll stay warm.

I just picked up a Primus ETA (basically a jetboil) to boil water. Before that I would just though a pot over a camp stove or fire. It's super nice being able to boil water in 2 minutes with a jetboil style burner though.

X 3 on the french press, just a 3 cup version. Easy enough to brew another batch if more sups are wanted. Small enough to carry, and the coffee is always great. Just a bag of pre-ground good coffee from the grocery store.

I use whatever ground coffee I happen to have. Folger's, Maxwell, Great Value, Kroger brand, some shit from Aldi, whatever... They're all the same :gossip: slightly different roast or different beans, no major difference.
Then I toss about 10 scoops of my unbiased branded coffee into my family heirloom 30+ year old percolator and wait til the brown not-gonna-kill-you-today fluid bubbles for about 3 minutes or so into the clear plastic top.

Instagram overlanding coffee at its finest

It's just coffee. Who the hell has time to spend 30 minutes making it?!
Leave cell service, get stuck, and love the outdoors! Take some pics and vids while you're out there, THEN, when you get home, you can post them and look cool for your followers lol

Cold brew, all day, every day, ready to go as soon as you wake up. Get a batch brewing before you hit the trail, the sloshing helps brewing.

I make my own single serving bags using the coffee of my choice along with a standard coffee maker coffee filter. When done with it I simply let it dry out, discard the grounds and burn the bag. No gizmos & gadgets to break and/or clean.

my sister, who gets cred for hiking the PCT and Appalachian, pointed out that Nescafe taste better than Starbucks instant which seems to only come in burnt flavour.

Uses a standard 500ml water bottle too. dont over fill the steel cup before pressing. Can also do the 20oz bottle, with a little left over. make two batches- one to start, another while cooking, etc.

I’m a fellow snob. Fresh ground beans and a press is the only way to go.
