Same thing with my dad, my mom literally told him to never shave it off again.

I get mice up there every year. I have traps, and poison, bait. Hasn't killed or caught one yet. I am running out of ideas.

very allergic to cats, and i have 2 dogs already. There are neighborhood cats that kill them though and leave them to be found.

I'm hoping I get them. I thought they were just above my office, which was an addition at some point and has no access to the space above. Fortunately, I've heard them above the main house so they can apparently go back and forth between the sections just fine.

Hm.. pissed off facilities at my work by velcro'ing the desk drawers shut with industrial grade velcro... It was an intended joke for the sarcastic prick moving into my old cubicle after me and the facilities manager told me ahead of time that they wouldn't be going through the desks after we moved out and the next guys moved in. Got a nasty email to come to my old cubicle immediately by upper management. Oh well - guess they're mad that they couldn't take their 15th smoke break they take by lunch time and had to deal with this.

Oh boy. I am an expert at fighting the evil rodent army. But I hate to tell you this, if you hear them in your attic you have an issue. Because they come from the basement.

In my house, I can kill a hundred of them a season. I just started the onslaught about a week ago since it's been so warm and I've already got a dozen. I've tried all the means and methods and found that standard wire snap traps work best. And even though the little bastards LOVE peanut butter, they can lick it off easy without setting the trap. I like to use an oily somewhat hard cheese, cheddar most of the time, and really make sure you mash it into the trigger so they have to struggle to get it all. Put them everywhere. This time a year I am setting no less than 12 traps every night and half of them are usually full by the next night.

Hmm, I've never seen signs of any in the basement or house itself. Been through the basement in detail too because I had some plumbing work to do down there.

I actually suspect they're coming in through the garage. They can probably get into the attic from the garage because it's the same height. There's sheetrock, but I think there are gaps.

A guy at work swears by pieces of snickers bars. He says because they're harder, they can't just lick them off so that's what I was going to try.

I use gummy bears wired to the trap plate, with peanut butter smeared on them. Has worked every time they've set the trap off, lol. But the biggest factor lately has been our new cat. He is hell on rodents; I find (parts) of a new one on the front porch every single day.

I just know that people think they go straight to the attic when it's usually not the case. It's just easier to hear them when they are above you. Rodents live in the ground, until it gets cold, then they come in at the ground level and usually don't scale walls until they have colonized the lower levels. But who knows.. I would just make sure to set traps all over because you may be surprised. Snickers bars are interesting, you'll have to tell me how you do, but it will be damn hard for me to keep them in the house.

Holy shit, gummy bears attached with bailing wire? Man that is next level stuff right there. That takes too much work for me when I'm setting a dozen a night but it sounds ideal. You have no idea how angry I get when I find traps that have no bait and weren't tripped!
