Put a Scanguage II on the steering wheel column, hiding the TPMS idiot light on the dash - keep an eye on your tire pressure the old fashioned way, problems and added expense solved :)

Pete did you need to drill into your fenders when you added the bushwackers. My truck didn't come with factory flares. Thanks

In theory, our fender surface should not require drilling - the bushwackers are attached to the body through a combination of 3m double-sided tape, and 3 or 4 fasteners drilled into the underside lip of the fender to fasten the ends of the bushwackers in place. The exposed bolts that some of the Bushwackers show on the arch, are cosmetic only.

There is a video on YouTube of one that the top just flops around with wind on the highway. The rubber gasket on top is just to prevent paint damage and isn't double sided 3m.

Here we go, conversation with him about 2 years back.

Hey, man!! I recommend getting those flares, they really stick out and improve the look of the truck! As for the installation, the correct way to install them is to simply attach them from the underside of the wheel well. However, since we have 5-lugs with no pre drilled holes on the bottom of the wheel well, you're gonna need to drill it. The bolts on the flares are just dummy bolts and do not require any drilling at all on the side of vehicle. However, for mine, I drilled holes on the side so it is secure firmly. I have friends that run Bushwackers as well and did not drill holes on the side and they say that it holds very tight and there is nothing to worry about.

So to answer your question, yes. only drilling on the fender underside on the wheel well, nothing else on the side, as the bolts are cosmetic. But if you want to, you can drill it on the side like how I did. And again, that part is completely unnecessary and you can leave how it is :)

Still on the forum? Did you need. Spacer? This is the exact wheel and tire combo my nephew is looking at ordering.

I put 265/70 r17's with a 1 inch 5x4.5 to 5x5 spacer and the tires sit dead even with the fender wells and it looks great. The tires and wheels are from a jeep.thumbnail.jpg
