How many different OEM styles are there?

I have the dead basic rubber one in my SR5, and I know about the TRD Pro version....anything else in between?

I’m on my phone or I’d post links, but there’s multiple threads about this. I have a second gen pool ball style knob in my 3rd gen and it’s nice. Fits great.

Thanks but not really interested in cobbling together something that doesn't quite fit with the 3rd Gen boot collar.

Looking for optional OEM style outside the TRD, not a fan of the red either.

If my Google-Fu is correct there are only three OEM choices:
-SR\SR5 = black rubber and plastic
    [IMG]

-TRD PRO = leather with red accents and silver trim
-Sport/Offroad/Limited = black leather with silver trim

    Am I missing any?

Random question: is the boot collar the same for the manual and automatic shift knobs? They both seem to screw on the same but could you take a manual boot collar clip and insert it into the automatic shift knob? I like the look of the automatic TRD pro knob (without gear guide) but want it on my MT.

I believe they’re slightly different. The manual boot comes off with a half turn and downward force. The auto seem to snap in place.

DO you think the manual collar could be inserted into the automatic knob? Or are they unremovable?

I think that's it (in the US at least). I have the OR version and love it. Fits really well in my hand.

I found one on EBay that was lighter and matched the silver trim.

They seem epoxied or glued in there. You could make it work but you’d be sacrificing one knob entirely.

I wonder if a Lexus knob could be used?

The thread pitch is different between the auto and the manual.

You wouldn't just be able to thread the pro knob from an auto onto your manual.

I would really like to know if this one fit.

Is there a way to keep my boot collar from sliding up if I put on a different shift knob like this one for example :

Most of us are using a rubber grommet (Home Depot sells the perfect size). The grommet holds the boot retainer down on the shaft. Looks pretty decent actually.

    Check this post: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/after-market-mt-shift-knobs.471467/page-2#post-14278409

    OA

Edit: it's the 3/4" grommet from Home Depot. Don't go looking for a 3/4" grommet else where because they won't work properly; that's not the typical naming convention - though I could send you measurements if you wanted to find it from another provider. It's shaped like a thick flat disc with a groove cut into it around the circumference. You trim off one of the flanges and you're good to go.
