so I have a stock non supercharged 1997 3.4L v6 219k miles runs like a champ, but I want more and I don't want to just slap a supercharger on without giving her some love.

    stock engine rebuild kit?

or upgraded rebuild kit / piece a kit together, like better pistons con rods rings ect..?

any one know best way to go about doing this?

You don't need upgraded internals to run the supercharger, it was made for the stock 3.4l motor and many people have run it on higher mileage 3.4s with no issues.

Just be sure to put in 2 step cooler spark plugs and you're good to go. Look into fuel mods (URD 7th injector kit, methanol kit, or larger fuel injectors all around, high flow fuel pump, etc.) if you want to boost as safely as possible. Especially if you plan on upgrading the supercharger itself to produce more boost.

nice thanks for the info, I'm defiantly still interested in rebuilding I'm looking for more horse and torque, to haul a 3,000 lbs camp trailer and increase the life span of my engine.

I'm gonna do clutch and trans work to just to top it off.

I'm really just not wanting to ever buy a new truck and I know the Tacoma can do everything I need it to do!!!

the supercharger won't be doing a whole lot of damage to the tranny, dunno if your an auto or manual, but the 5 speed will handle the power just fine. add a larger tranny cooler for an auto. if your using the factory clutch, then by all means replace it. engine work? it would be cheaper just to but a lower mileage engine then build your current one. But I've never heard of a 3.4 having any issues with the boost of the supercharger. one guy got 488k on his boosted engine before the headgaskets blew. the best thing to do for your engine is keep up on maintenance, and change the fluids regularly. 219k is nothing for these trucks. I'm at 486k

There is one guy on here with over 500k on his SC 3.4. the SC itself has at least 350k on it I'm not mistaken.

He had to do his head gaskets somewhere in the 400k range but that's to be expected with that many miles, head gaskets aren't designed to last forever @1997tacomav6

My engine blew a head gasket at 480,000, was cheaper to replace the motor with a 2004 that had 100,000 miles. My supercharger is the grey unit, I bought it a year after my truck in1998,
So the supercharger has around 525,000 on it as my truck now has 545,000, rebuilt the charger every 150,000 top to bottom
