    Hi everyone,

The truck is 4 months old with 5K miles. After firing up the engine early this morning the truck wouldn't move on my driveway when placing it in Drive and releasing the emergency brakes. The wheels are locked, if forced it will burn the rubbers..!!

Just serviced the truck at the Toyota dealership in Weston FL and all was normal, nothing wrong, just oil change and tire rotation. I told service manager that noticed the cabin vibrates a little when applying the brakes with speeds over 45 miles. Service manager agreed this could be due to vehicle sitting in stock for long time, advised to give it another 5k miles to wear out excess on disk brakes.

Has anyone experienced the same? Any comments/advices would be highly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    PC

There are several guys on here that this has happened to and some guys claim its from washing the truck and the drums seizing up.

Welcome to Tacoma world! You kind of posted a paradox... if the wheels are locked up how can it burn rubber? Please clarify... are the wheels locked up or, do you just sit there in your driveway spinning the tires and not moving?

Also, when did you wash it last and how long dud it sit before you drove it?

So only one of the rear tires spins while the other is locked?

Seeing as how Murphy's Law is my constant companion, this would probably happen to me as I was running late for a funeral or jury duty:facepalm:

    Is your truck an auto?

You may be able to free it by repeatedly shifting from R to D to get the truck rocking slightly.

    Hi everyone,

Unfortunately, my rear tires locked up again this morning...

Hand washed the truck (the rear tires were wet) this past Sunday after returning from our spring brake trip with the truck to Daytona beach FL, and this morning, I couldn't move with the truck again! The first time it happened last October, I let it go. This time it's different!

Already entered a case # with Toyota USA. I will need to get rid of this Taco....!

That's all it takes for you to get rid of the truck? Your going to go through alot of vehicles, could get expensive. Give them a chance to fix it. It happens but it's not a common problem. If your washing it with a pressure washing and driving water around the drum into the brakes them applying the parking brake in freezing temps, is it a Toyota problem? If that isnt the case give them a chance to fix it. The parking brake is a simply mechanism. Try a different dealer.

Opened a case # with Toyota. Something needs to happen . Frustrating to pay 80 for Uber to work when you have a truck sitting on your driveway that won't work.
    Bad quality product #Frustrated
