Question: can I put a rear wheel e-locker on my 2017 sr5 4 banger?

Total truck newb here,

I have this 2017 crew cab 4 banger, 2wd. I'm saving up for a lift and some bigger tires as I would like to take it offroading everynow and then. However, I'm scared of getting stuck into some soft sand. So I've been considering putting a rear elocker to give me some reassurance. My question is, can it be done relatively easily? Has anyone done this to a 4cyl? Is it even worth trying?

 

I’m doubting it will be easy. But, i’m Interested to see the responses.

 

If you don't have an elocker now then it's pretty much an axel swap for it ( the diff is a different size)

 

A locker won’t help much in sand tho, been there done that. Was actually one of my first posts on this site lol. Now, if you get stuck off camber in a rut, a locker most definitely will help

 

A locker will help whenever 1 wheel has traction and 1 doesnt. It won't make up for not knowing how to drive in sand though. I
