OP, head over to the suspension forum and do some research then contact Marie @HeadStrong Off-Road and she'll get you into something that fits your burget and will work with how you intend to use the truck.

The lift has minimal impact on gas mileage compared to larger/heavier tires

That's odd, I haven't spent any money trying to fix vibration issues. This isn't an across the board, if you lift you're going to get them, problem.

First of all, read the first post (and more) in this thread before buying anything. The above replies have been a disservice without suggesting you read this (shame on you @geekhouse23 )

Lifting a Tacoma is like feeding a mogwai after midnight and throwing the offspring in a pool. You will be chasing gremlins for the rest of your life. That can be part of the fun. If that doesn't sound fun, leave it stock.

You're the lift man. I'm surprised you didn't steer OP to the lift FAQs

    Just busting your nuts, really

We need a splash page that links that thread before posting ANYTHING in the suspension forums

    ^^^^^^^^^^^^

    not bad.........nice & firm......I think the 3rd ring on the front 5100's is ideal....for a stock

suspension like my '14......2" leveling lift.....once I replace the tires/wheels later this month...

that will tell the real story of how it rides/handles......so hard to find a 16" AT tire I like..with a 6 ply

or SL rating......may still go for an E rated tire.......trying to stay in the 45-52# weight range...

If you've got $2k to drop on suspension, do it right the first time.

Snag some Bilstein 6112 front Coilovers if you want something beefy but maintenance-free, or splurge and go Icon/King/Fox 2.5 ext travel non-resi for the front.

Throw on some longer travel rear shocks (Bilstein / Icon / Fox are all good, affordable brands). 3-leaf AAL for the rear pack or go full leafs if you're going to be hauling/towing (Dakar/Allpro/Deaver).

Read, read, read. Install yourself so you know how everything works and how to diagnose issues that may arise.

I've had my 6 inch lift on my tacoma, offroad 2014 4x4 for about a month and a half and so far so good. There isn't anyone talking about anything over 3" on here, but if you want to go bigger, with a bigger tire, (mine being the Nitto RG's 285's) there is no cutting or rubbing, and the only difference I have noticed, is my gas mileage has gone down a few MPGs.
