Intentionally blinding oncoming traffic will be illegal pretty much everywhere.

I think light bars for a 1st gen should be placed inconspicuously. They're just not period-correct and I think look out of place when installed prominently.

I think that it comes down as to what the light bar will be used to, and what one can afford.

I'm taking my Taco, to a south bound road trip to Panama. I'll be driving through some actual hard core jungle. I've already spent thousands, modifying the truck, and buying supplies, for this trip. Getting a working and functional light bar, for less than $60, was a GODsend, for this trip. Now, if anyone here feels my lightbar is somehow out of place aesthetically, I'll be more than glad to accept donations for a different set up!

Except my original question was not about the illegal flashing of other motorists, but rather the running of light bars as highbeams. I run mine on remote back roads. Meaning I won't see anyone for ~ 20-30min. So pretty desolate.

It is 100% illegal to run these on pavement where I live. But there are paved roads that are way less traveled than gravel roads, so I rarely use the light bar on the busy gravel roads:eek:

The law is there for stupidity. Unfortunately it punishes the smarter folks as well. I really don't care where people run the light bars, I still agree that intentionally flashing is just plain stupid. Maybe your light bars just aren't as blinding to other motorists as my rigid is :notsure::devil:
