I've been a lurker here for a long time and finally have a problem I can't find.

I have an 05' Tacoma. A couple days ago the blower fan was not working on any speed setting. I could tell the AC was still working by a little cold air coming through the vents. Anyways I looked on here and found it was likely the resistor or the blower motor itself. I ordered both.

Before I replaced them I hit a speedbump particularly hard and the blower started working, just severally degraded, really only on high setting. So I installed a new blower motor, and new resistor with help from posts on this forum. (Thanks everyone).

Now, the new blower fan is putting out about the same amount of air as the previous one after it broke and started barely working again, which is severally degraded. The highest setting now is equivalent to a medium output. I tried running it without the cabin filter and it's the same.

Any idea why a new blower motor and new resistor wouldn't be blowing as much air as it use to? Thanks.

I believe that the resistor has been blamed for many similar but I would pull the connector to the resistor and take a look at the terminals. Look burned? If so, therein lies your problem.

If you used a cheapie resistor that would be a place to start. Or you have a burned/partially burned wire somewhere. Some of the available (12 volt) power is being consumed trying to get past a load (poor/melted connection)
