i do but i also have a storage system with drawers and sleeping platform in there. previously i was putting the oversized spare in there but its more than half the width of the truck bed and precludes me from sleeping 2 in the truck bed

Ah dang. I was going to suggest what I built. I also built a platform/storage system, but the front half of the bed is for my spare and the rear half is a drawer.

Although I'm just now realizing a 285 would be a hair too wide to fit underneath like my 255 did.

I will take a pic tomorrow but it will fit. You will have to bend the tabs out then chop the exhaust right behind the muffler.

what size tires are you running? yeah i want to see how you made it work because i removed the tabs but with the exhaust in stock location it didn't seem like there was anyway to get it to fit well. with exhaust in stock location the tire would not lay flat against the truck bed underside and seemed to be a clearance issue as well as with the tire sticking lower than the trailer hitch and the front side nearly touching the rear diff

also with the exhaust chopped over there have you had any issues with soot showing up on the body? my truck is white so i was a little concerned about that

Here are some pics of mine it is a 285/75r17. If I bend out the brackets some more I think I can get the spare a little higher up.

have u ever had any issues with hitch receiver dragging and then whatever was dragging hitting the spare? i have a DCLB so probably end of dragging hitch receiver more than most....that's my only concern, though this seems to be the best option for now

At least Brady took a stand to stand. Had some vinyl window stickers made in the design of a football.

If anyone else is interested you can have them made at makestickers.com. The more you buy the cheaper the price. Just 2 are a little pricey.
