Agreed. My thoughts exactly. Just need to find one big enough for that carriage bolt.

Another DIY light mount from last weekend. Unused light bar. Spare trailer hitch. Removed ball. Bolted light to it. Now fits into my front receiver when I'm not running my plow. Plugs into a connector just above the front mount. Switch in the cab was $13.

I bought a bunch and found a use for one in the truck. First I removed the headband and put on some Velcro. I found that when I open the center console there is a large area in which it can be mounted to face directly down into the center console itself.

Spent 20$ on a spectre cone filter and 10$ on some plexiglass (not in the truck yet) and cut my stock intake tube, and now I will have a 30$ CAI once I build a box to insulate the filter from the engine heat and mud

If you're like me and your Tacoma has the "towing package" and you offroad...chances are that electrical connector for the trailer lights didn't last long. For me, it lasted about 1 month. So, 9 years later, I'm actually going to tow something and needed it fixed. I completely destroyed mine so it had to come out. The good news is the 7 pin blade style connector attaches via a plastic harness so it pops right out.

I went to the dealer and asked them how much a new one would be. Keep in mind, I'm talking about the 1.5ft wiring harness that has the 7 blade connector on the end. $250. No, not kidding. So I went to O'rileys and found a 7 blade adapter for $29. I cut the old harness in half and soldered the new one on. Then I decided it needed to be mounted in an area that wouldn't get immediately ripped off again. I decided the bumper was the best place. In the end, a good hole saw and a soldering iron saved me $220.

So I hate the giant gaping hole on the side of my light bar mounting bracket, so a couple ODI bicycle bar ends and some gorilla glue epoxy and problem solved!! Plus there is a little theft protection!!IMG_0762.jpg

Carriage bolts in the bed rails. There’s a pic somewhere in this thread how I modded them to fit.
