There was a 20 minute trailer released at SXSW this week. It hits on this pretty hard albeit w/ a twist.

Thats pretty neat; I'm hyped up this is my favorite horror series of all time so I hope they do it right. I'd like to see the 20 minute preview but I also don't want to spoil the movie either. Been watching a lot of theories on the subject on youtube lately

In case anyone missed this one released yesterday, lots of analysis already about Shaw's role.

I think most are in agreement (not so much that it sucked) that it left more questions than answers.
Here's hoping this one hits on all cylinders.

Covenant just came out last Friday. That's the latest Alien movie. I want to see it soon.

Saw Alien Covenant last night. Too much dialogue and not enough Aliens. I HATE hate hate how they tried to explain the origin. I do not accept this explanation. It just does not fit with everything we know so far...everything from previous films.

Finally saw it couple nights ago. I agree Scribbles. I don't even know what R.S. was trying to do here. Really, I can even forgive not having it line up to Alien if another movie is planned but this wasn't even close to horror. Hell, it didn't even feel dramatic. Nice looking, yea, expected that but for the first time I felt let down she managed to kill the last one that hitched a ride on the departing ship. (Tired of the fat lady singing that song also.)
Doubt I'll ever feel as hyped to see another of the franchise again. At least I was around for I and II as they came out.

They need to take it away from him same as they took Star Wars away from George Lucas so he would stop effing it up.

Since I posted my theory, I have learned that (according to the official novelization) David did not create the eggs, only recreated something old that was already there, so I am not quite as upset as I use to be.

And I suppose a better term would have been lacking any tension.

I realize no one wanted "Prometheus II" but chronologically, that's what was needed.

I have been good about staying away from too much on the net about the franchise so as not to ruin a movie for me. Never watched the spin offs and damn if the one 'secret' I let myself have before hand, the buddy of mine telling me David was the creator, was at best incomplete. I wonder if he's lying (can he) about a lot.

Finally saw Covenant a few nights ago.

Prometheus looked great, but a failure IMO. I liked the idea of telling the story of the engineers but the movie felt rushed or something was just a bit off about it. It was a huge let down for me.

Covenant: I was expecting that Covenant would make up for the poor story writing and plot holes in Prometheus.....I was so wrong.....it was actually worse, way worse. The story really made no sense. I have a hard time believing a studio can dump so many millions into a sequel after prometheus and be like yeah good job!

I can't see how another could be made.
