Where Have You Off-Roaded Today? 3rd Gen

Not as scenic as some of the other pics in this thread, but I did get to cruise some forest service roads in Sumter National Forest. I only took one pic while I was letting a motorcycle go by. Too busy enjoying the new truck.

 

A couple more from Big Bend. Round trip from home and back was 1200 miles exactly. Did approximately 88 miles offroad while there.

^^^ When I rode at Gooseberry this past spring, we drove in at Main St from Hwy 59. How is this route from the north?

 

Otay Truck Trail CA

 

It’s fine except for one steep, rough section that needed 4x4 and some line selection. Everything is very dry so there was a layer of silt that kept things interesting and covered the pointy rocks. Tacoma crawled up it no problem, hit my skid on the way down but it was minor. I’ll be upgrading the skid soon anyway. If it’s wet I’d avoid it and take the route you chose.

 

Quiet lil spot near Deep Creek Lake. Was pretty despite the weather...

 

When I was there, the southern route had some long muddy stretches (it had rained/snowed a few days earlier). When we got to the parking area there was a clean white BMW X5 parked there, maybe a bit dusty but no mud ... so I figured the northern route might drain better.

Not sure if they are called that. Series of timbered ridges off Badger Pass.

 

It was awesome!

 

Joshua tree berdoo canyon road.

 

Tested the king shocks at Joshua tree and got air. Smooth as butter!

This was at walupt lake, off the 21 road from the Packwood side, they just got the washout on the 23 road fixed and opened up!

 

I'll have to explore that area one day. Thanks!

 

Wow awesome rig! What suspension setup you running?

 

Thanks! Nothing too fancy, just 5100's on all 4 and OME Dakar leafs in the rear. This setup works just fine for what I have done so far! In a year or two I will put on my big boy pants and fork out the money for long travel.
