Is there a practical way to turn off seat belt alarm on ‘14 Taco? I’ve did the fog light mod, cig lighter mod, electric windows mod.

Go to the nearest dealer and be polite and courteous. Tell them your 4 legged buddy rides up there when your out on forest service roads or something. Just ask if they can turn the buzzer off. That worked for me.

See above. It is controlled in Firmware via the ECU. Search the forums there are Techstream knockoffs from Chiina that can be had on ebay for cheap.

You can turn the actually beeping off through the odometer button... Unless you are referring to the little red light blinking.

This worked for my 2010, and a buddies 2008

    1) Turn the Car 'ON', but do not start the engine (Leave your foot off the brake). Cycle your trip reset knob until it reads ODO. Turn the ignition back off. Wait a couple of seconds.
    2) Make sure seat belt is not fastened
    3) Turn the ignition back on, do not start the car (Leave you foot off the break) As soon as you see everything light up, press and hold the trip reset knob and do a long 12 second count.
    4) Keep your finger on the trip reset knob. Fasten your seat belt, as soon as you fasten your seat belt, you should see the ODO display go from XXXX miles to "b-on". At that time take your finger off the trip reset knob and press it again. It should cycle to "b-off". You should be all set and turn the ignition off and unfasten your seat belt.

I am not sure what years it works for. I would assume it would work for all 2 gens.

Nope, I think its 2010 and before if I remember correctly. It does not work on my 2015.

After some Research. You are correct sir. It looks like you need a scan tool at the dealer to do it.

Easy enough to remove the spring under the activation tab in tbe buckle. The tab remains down, keeping the switch engaged and the rig sees a connected belt. disabling buzzer and light. Also easy to reverse by simply reinstalling the spring.

That doesn't work on a 2014 like the OP has.

That stopped working in 2012 AFAIK.

The ODO thing was one of the first I tried on my '14. No good. So I got a Techstream from the far east and did it that way.

Just copy the outline of your locking tab on to some 1/8" stainless. I had plenty of it at work and the tools to make it in about 20 minutes.IMG_20170430_134142.jpg

    Here's a novel idea:

    Wear your seatbelt.
