Anytime fog light mod is great. I have done it too. I even made an electrical diagram to explain what the green wire is and which circuit it is that we are tapping into.

Be advised though it's against the law to run your fogs without your headlamps on whether day or night. It is also illegal to run fogs on with your high beams on.

I really don't wish to debate the merit of the law, I'm just stating what is.

You can justify it anyway you want. If you're interested I did some research and found out why it's actually dangerous to run your fogs on with highbeams.

I don't believe that for a minute. My 05 Ranger had fogs that could be turned on with only the parking lights and my 03 Mach 1 is the same way. I believe this is just a Toyota quirk that a Hino engineer thought up for some bizarre reason...

You would be surprised my friend. The law is very clear on this.

California Vehicle Code Table of Contents » Division 12, Chapter 2, Article 2 » Section 24403

    Foglamps

24403. (a) A motor vehicle may be equipped with not more than two foglamps that may be used with, but may not be used in substitution of, headlamps.

All I know is that on a Ford, including the 2010 Mustangs, you can run fogs with just the parking lights on.

Check your state and local laws, I know that there are other states where it's also prohibited. But as unholycumulus pointed out, the law is stupid and not enforced as evidenced by him and others.

What to hear something even more stupid that the fog law? In California, (maybe your state too), it's against the law to drive around with your parking (running) lights on without the headlamps on. Sounds stupid huh? That law has been around since 1961!

    Lighted Parking Lamps

24800. No vehicle shall be driven at any time with the parking lamps lighted except when the lamps are being used as turn signal lamps or when the headlamps are also lighted.

LED conversion on every accessible bulb, TRD exhaust (dealership threw in for free along with the Blu-Logic).

Resurrection of a dead thread but wanted to point out that I think the law has changed since so many vehicles have DRLs now. I noticed new GM vehicles (Cadillac and Corvette) use the amber fogs as DRLs and they are super bright. I have been wondering what bulb they use.

This just took entirely too long. I rechecked my connections and fuses for 10 minutes before realizing I didn't have my keys in.. Sigh.. I'll have another beer now please.

This will work in the 3rd gen. The only thing changed is the position of the relays and fuses, but the wiring is the same.
