how to remove canadian driving light mod

My US truck was modified to meet the Canadian driving lights law. The headlights stay on even when the key is turned off and switch is in the off position. The only way to turn them off is to open the driver's door. This has led to my battery dying several times when I don't exit the truck right away. Any ideas on how to get rid of this and return it to normal headlight operation?

 

Turn the headlights off before you turn the key off.

 

My 05 came like that from the factory and dealership in California.

 

Mine too... Never been an issue for me.

 

How long you sitting in the truck for?? I've left my truck with the radio running while doing under-hood shit for loooong time and it still starts right up.

I didn't realize the northern lights were just those silly bastards leaving their headlights on all night.

Why didn't they make the turn signals into the DTRL like every other Canadian Tacoma

 

Look for a DRL module/harness under the hood, should be connected to one of your headlights harnesses...you’ll be able to tell no problem, most shops half ass on it in anyways.
