Are you referring to brightness or aim?

It's not impossible that they need to be properly aimed. It's not something that's checked in a dealer prep, and their are specific centerline heights and L/R dimensions based on being a specific distance from a wall chart.

When you go in for your first 'checkup' ask them to check the aim and adjust if needed.

    simple answer no.

complex answer: the headlights have a really good cut off so the light doesn't spill up higher like older headlights did so it doesn't illuminate signs and objects above them as well giving the perception that they are dim/improperly aimed when in reality they are lighting the roadway properly. If you want more reach use your highs, if you're worried about blinding drivers then you will be doing the same with the lows aimed higher.

EDIT: will agree with above post that there is a chance they could be improperly and go ahead and have the dealer check, but really unlikely

I aligned my own headlights in a large, flat parking lot when I got the truck. They had to be cranked up for longer throw down the road.

You could also go the easy route and get a lift. That way you don't have to tinker with your headlights.

Ya...tell me about the lift...When the rake is more pronounced (back a lot higher than stock) the lights point 3 ft in front of the truck...Had to tape 2 flashlights to the hood to see in the night time

this was from another post i downloaded awhile back. I notched it up a little bit and it took a bit of effort working in a small space. first time I adjusted headlights and I didn't think it was so bad. it was a pain though. now it lights a little further up, and I don't get anyone flashing their beams at me. I just notched it up a little bit. I forget how much, but I don't think I made the beam go up vertically more than about 1/4 inch at a time between test drives.

While I agree that there’s a possibility that they could be aimed incorrectly, I doubt it.

It’s probably a perception issue in your head. If you haven’t messed with the aim and you haven’t been in an accident, I’d be willing to bet that they’re correctly aimed.

If it bugs you that much, I’d mention it during a scheduled service at the dealership.

Do other drivers a favor and don’t go adjusting the lights to shine higher because you *think* they don’t shine far enough.

Blinding oncoming traffic or the driver in front of you isn’t cool

Unless you just got lucky, they still aren't aimed correctly.

Mine were slightly low at first, but currently right on target due to the leaf springs settling.
