My guess would be you use your 4x4 less than others do, or differently.

Sometimes the wife and I just like to go clean up trails we know are dirty. So that entails getting in driving a little ways getting out over and over. Its awesome to listen to that beeping constantly

Often when we off road, it is on dedicated off road trails, that the seat belt constantly synches down on you over and over.

Many reasons for this. I wear my seat belt 100% of the time when on road. its hard to not put it on when getting into the truck, 1st thing the hand goes for.

I decided to just buy these little thingies.

    yep..
I removed the buzzer behind the Speedo cluster. Got rid of the open door chime as well, but the 4wd and traction control beeps are still there which I don't mind.

Leave the seat belt plugged in, and just hop in and sit on it straps.

The seatbelt chime is designed to ding ~15-30 seconds longer than a normal human being can stand to bear.

It WILL eventually stop chiming but if you use the e-brake or engage reverse then back to first gear (or drive for you city folk) the chime cycle will return.

I had to use techstream as it was the only way to get it to shut the fuck up. I wish to the stars above that I had done it sooner, like the first day I bought my truck.

You can actually use a bluetooth OBD adapter and a putty terminal on a computer / phone to input the proper commands in HEX.... but you can REALLY eff shit up this way. This is actually the way i did it before i got my techstream cable.

That stated I ALWAYS wear my seatbelt on or off road, unless its a very slow rocky rough trail where its nice to be able to sit forward and let the truck move underneath your body. Or for the 300 ft between the grocery store and my front door.
