hey everyone it's about time to get new tires on my yota finally got everything mechanically running smooth and no more check engine light!(knock on wood) but just curious I have the 5lug 205/75r15 noticed the front two are 205/65r15 no looking for a big tire just something to ride a little smoother and maybe not be as bouncy I was looking and those are pretty much trailer tires which doesn't matter but wondering if I should go with 215 or 225 if it would ride any better?

all stock supsension no I don't want to lift or go off-roading i mainly use my truck for daily driving highway commute.

What size tires brand are y'all running on a base 2wd 5lug

Did I read that right? two different tire sizes, front/rear? If that's the case, I'd obviously go with a single size for all 4...

Trailer tires are typically bias ply, and car/truck tires are radials - so yeah, it does matter. Get radials.

I can't remember what my '97 5-lug ran, but one thing to consider for your ride quality is your shocks and springs. If those are worn out, new tires won't help your ride at all.

Quite honestly, I'd just look at the door sticker and go with that size, and whatever your tire shop has a special on.

Yeah you read that right, I got a good deal on my yota and love it to death just trying to get it but I bought it from original owner and it's been sitting for like 3 years and having to tune it up and everything. But got it running smooth now and just need tires /suspension... been searching he 5 luh forms and maybe get 215/75 but probably just get stock size from the door (205/75) but how would I know if the springs/shocks are bad? I mean it rides decent and all but not super stiff more kinda bouncy but idk gonna take it to local tire shop just checking input from others with expieience with these trucks this is my forst yota 2.4 2wd bad lil truck 394xxx mi and counting

Do you have any idea if the shocks have ever been replaced?

Bouncy probably means your shocks are bad, I’d start with those.

At 400k miles, you springs are probably pretty worn, too, but I’d at least start with the shocks. Also look into suspension and steerig rack bushings, tie rod ends, etc...

Your truck is just getting broken in.

@jbrandt I'm pretty sure it's been all stock I do know that the rear tie Ross were changed before I bought it but looks like stock springs n leafs not really wanting to lift it or try and put big mud tires and a lift...
there's is just so much info on here but not much for little 2.4 version of the truck
But if I do have to replace the springs and shocks I def want to get it leveled out any ideas on that lift the front or lower the rear?
