I guess it’s easier for me to walk on by when you see the same ones multiple times throughout the week. The “homeless in need of food” in this area are heroine addicts lookin to score another fix. We help support a local shelter rather giving to a to an individual.

Two of my most rememberable run ins with these folks. Guy was standing on a corner with a sign “will work for food” “need job”
There also happened to a great big sign on the lumber yard behind him with 2’ tall letters stating “jobs available, no experience necessary, apply here”

The other was with my father, we were on the way to a job site. We saw the same sign different guy. ”Will work for food” “need job”
My father rolls up and says “hey buddy I got plenty of work for yah I’ll pay you cash $75/day” the guy’s answer “move along asshole yer f@ckin with my business!”

When you see them put their sign in the trunk of a brand new Cadillac at the end of the day, yah get a bit callused. Mike you tried to do the right thing and that’s what counts, gettin kicked in jimmies for it sucks.

Wahoo yer grouchier than I am. When I was growing up in the shop as an apprentice I would seek out guys like us. They were typically the ones with knowledge, the hard part was gaining their respect that were willing to share their knowledge. I made friends with some excellent grouchy aholes.

Good morning woke up at 4 and it is up to 30* was in low teens when I went to bed. And it is snowing but don't give a shit supposed to get up to 34. Melt away, please. I like to watch the white stuff die.

Yeah took me years to get them thought they were over priced and I didn't need them. Got them on sale at Amazon awhile back and now am sold on them. For greasy stuff like chicken and sausage burgers they add a smokey flavor that is hard to get anywhere else. And no flare ups yet add about 200* to the surface cooking area. A lot of people of use them for steak on gas grills and say they haven't used charcoal once they get them. Screw that I ran out of gas months ago and haven't used gas since getting them. Getting colder so will use the gas grill a little bit more now. Have 2 tanks for it so I never run out. And both are empty :anonymous:

Hard to do Mike because you give a damn. You can try all you want but eventually you break down when it crosses the line and you know the customer is going to keep having problems and you step in. If you find out how to turn that switch off where you really don't care anymore let me know. But I think it is too late at his stage of the game. Don't ask me how I know.

I thought it was only Pa. left that had those archaic Blue Laws on hunting. Must be about the only 2 left. Really don't miss that.

In Wisconsin the best time to go hunting is Sundays when the Packers are playing. If your go Christmas shopping do it when the Packer game in on. There have been years when the deer kill was down and one of the reasons was the Packer game.
