I still catch shit from my friends for buying a clean 7.3 instead of a Tundy.

What are you thinking about getting?

If they ever release the Cummins tundra it would be pretty cool.

Meh, 08+ emissions diesels aren’t worth it unless you plan to delete the DPF/SCR/EGR

Can't do any of that in the county I live in anyway, so not that big of a deal around here. People still do it, but some of the shops have started to refuse working on them.

Looking at 7.3’s. Been for awhile just want to pay cash so I have no car payments. Time shall tell. If not a 7.3 then a Cummins it’ll be.

There will be a low-ish mileage one for sale here in January. '01 with around 130k miles, I think dude said around $15k. Has fixed all the known electrical problems already.

Nice not a bad price. I’d like a 4door one...if I have to when I’m ready for one I’ll get an extended cab one.

There are definitely deals out there on 7.3 trucks. Having cash in hand is the way to go to swoop one up for cheap.

12 and 24 valve Cummins truck’s are too much money for such a crappy body and steering on the 4x4’s. Common rails are starting to come down a little but still to spendy to me for a clean one

South Carolina to Seattle is a long way, but for a bone stock truck it might be worth it. I think Marlins truck is a extended cab. He's only selling it to buy the new f350 with the higher tow capacity.

That’s not bad, you’re at least $10k to get a clean XLT SC or CC with under 200k miles. For reference I paid $15k for my super clean, no rust, ‘00 SCSB and 99k miles two years ago.

I was looking on line for comparisons around here and most are WAY over priced. I think $20k for a truck with 200k miles is crazy. Especially since most of them have been fucked with already.

This is the most ignorant statement I've ever seen in one of your "build" threads. They "work" all over the world in the most desolate and extreme parts that humans take wheeled vehicles. 37s and 40s is par for the course in Australia and NZ not to mention the arctic trucks running around on 44s. You need some more actual SEAT and WHEELIN time before you start talking like you know the different styles of offroading around the country also. Not the amount of time you spend on tw or planning your next mod.

Cool that you're building a wild XJ, but dont get butthurt when you get the "you're polishing a turd" attitude here on TW.

First of all I’m not claiming I know everything about wheeling. Second is that I’m not downing LC because I did want one at one time.
You can’t tell me that if you wheel hard on stock axles on 40’s that it’ll last. Idc who you are. I’ve seen one break on 37’s if you want to know. Yes they may be the best axles Toyota has ever made but that for sure doesn’t make them able to handle stuff without breaking. You’re definitely pushing the limites when you put 40’s on stock axles. There’s reasons people upgrade to 1 tons. Let me guess you’re one of the LC owners who will say you don’t need hydro assist with the LC either?
