    Anyone in the market for a bed rack that is buying one of these tents, I'd be willing to do a group buy.

    I'm beginning fabrication based on these conceptual drawings for another member this weekend. I'll have some progress pics Sunday if anyone is interested.

    The design can be modified to accommodate short bed or long beds. Just to clarify, the bottom step rails will not stick out as far as depicted, they will sit flush with the outer most crown of the bed (the truck model is a bit wonky!)

    Does that sit taller than the cab? You definitely need it to in order to keep the tent from bumping against the cab with bed articulation..

    I assume the person you are making it for doesn't have a cab rack? I would recommend at least an inch of clearance over anything on the cab of the truck...the beds articulate a lot..

    No, that particular bed rack doesn't extend over the cab. Thanks for the heads up though, I'll remember that if somebody wants that option in the future!

    Yeh I got a cold breeze up my crack at first, but then set the ladder hooks off the tent frame and tucked the bottom canvas rod (hehe) inside under the mattress and it was fine --- unless it was raining. I'm gonna add a velcor strip to the bottom as suggested.

    Also, because I don't trust the current straps in the long-term due to weathering and paranoia, I've ordered these for the 4 corners and one on each side to keep dust and road spray out...

    Here's a pic of the ladder hooks with taped edges. It sets under the mesh door ok, but causes a 1/2" gap with the canvas door down...again an easy work around.
