Hey everyone. I have a 2010 TRD. I have been wanting to do a retrofit since I first joined the forums a few years ago. I finally had the time and money to do so. I used the TRS Morimoto DS2 Kit with apollo 3 shrouds and halo rings with switchbacks. Had I not decided to paint all the pieces and install halos, I think this could be done in a single day. I took my time over two weeks then put it all together this weekend. I took several pictures so I'd thought I post them even though a lot of similar pictures are on the forums.

Picked up Stock Headlights from a guy off of craigslist.

    Into the Oven it goes!

    Separated.

Careful with the sealant after the oven. I got some on the damn lens. It's okay though, needed to restore the lenses anyway.

And managed to burn my thumb. Again, be careful unlike me.

Saw on youtube that you could sand the irregular surfaces of the headlight pieces with Steel wool.

Terrible idea... 2 hours sanding only for this.....

Searched online and found that Degreaser may work so I tried it out.

Money! I saw that for some, they claimed this didn't work. All I did was spray it on the pieces and gave it about two hours. I still did a light sand with sand paper just to ensure adhesion.

    Cleaned off.

Mock up of shroud on projector in the reflector bowl.

This is the paint I used. I applied 3 light coats. Waited 24 hours and did an additional two.
This is the mock up after everything was painted.

    Started adding the outer halos.

Then on to the inner halos.

Another mock up with both halos.

Sealed back together with Butyl from TRS.

    Final product!

I still need to aim everything this even but man that was some work! I had some experience with lighting in the past but mostly plug and play stuff. I can say that these forums helped me get a great understanding before taking this project on.

Couple mods down, many mods to go
They look good! If they get moisture in them like mine did the first time they saw rain, just go around them again with leftover butyl if you have any and that solves all problems

I washed the truck this evening and no moisture yet so hopefully it stays that way. I will keep an eye out for sure

Hey man, can you tell me how you wired your halos? Looks like you have the white halos as the DTRL, and the amber as the turn signal? Is that right?

Wondering how they function and how you wired them, does it have the led hyper flash? Please let me know as it would be greatly appreciated!

Hey man the halos are wired to the parking light and the turn signals. No issues with hyper flash. The parking light is the little bulb at the corner. So I can turn the first switch up and the halos come on and when I turn the switch to lights... everything goes on.

Ah, So you don't have DTRLs? My inner bulbs (the ones closest to the grill that typically melt housings) are DTRLs so I'm probably just going to disconnect those since I don't want to risk them causing any issues with new housings.

Do you have pics of this wiring? Did you need any relays or anything?

    Thanks again!
