Recently bought a 2001 TRD Tacoma. Something I have noticed is that even when I have my air set to OFF, hot or cold air will still blow through the vents. Can change temp with temp settings, so its not stuck on either hot or cold. Ways to troubleshoot this? Not having any luck finding other people with this problem. Thanks!

Welcome to TW! When you say having your air set to off, are you referring to the fan speed setting?

If you are setting your fan speed to off and the fan is not turning off it sounds like a bad fan switch (which is right there in the dash) or blower motor resister which I believe is located near the fan.

Is the fan on or are you talking about a little air coming through the vents although the fan is turned off? Because that is happening to me also and it changes temp according to what it’s set on. Edit: it doesn’t do it when the car is stopped just while it’s moving. Mine is a TRD as well.

The fan is set to off but is still running. Sometimes it's just a little air coming through (yes, changes temperature according to setting), but sometimes it's as if I have it set on high although it's off

Good point, can you hear if the fan is off? I assumed it was still running though set to off, which may not be the case.

If the truck is moving, air will come out of the vents even if the fan is off. Push the recirc button to stop air from coming out.

    This!

If you have the recirculate button on then air will not flow when turning the fan setting to off. Otherwise you will get air flowing through the vents at the adjusted temperature setting even if your fans are set to off.
