I have a 2016 TRD Sport all stock with exception to steps and tonneau cover....I have 17095 miles and have noticed a small amount of "feathering" on tires......I have tried to keep 29 psi as the manual recommends and each time i have had to go to the dealer, asked them to check and keep a 29psi......Because I have noticed some feathering, i would like to know if 29 psi is adequate....I do not haul anything or two....

Stock tires are Firestone's......what do most of you with stock tire run?

thanks in advance for your help

    Work in progress...
I put 32psi in mine. The door says 28, I know, but I was raised 32psi.

Read it here somewhere to compensate for engine front weight

Want to do chalk test yet

Photo of the tires? "Feathering" is typically indicative of an alignment problem, not inflation pressure...

I run 29 psi in my stock Sport tires. No issues although it is getting colder here in So Cal so I have readjusted my tires to be 29psi at much colder than usual temps.

yes......mine are 29 psi in the morning, cold......and after 15 min, they read 30-31 psi all way around.......but the real question, do you go by the manual of 29 psi for all tires cold?

On my 05 sport, I ran 32, on Michelin cross terrain and Costco LTX , 29 psi, I had to “fight “ the tires too much, squealing on low speed turns in parking lots.

On my 17 limited, I try to keep it at 35 psi.

I don’t care about the chalk test, averaging 9,500 miles a year on Michelin’s, they should rot before treadwear due to mileage

    Pics of tread?

    Are you rotating?
    Cross-pattern or straight?

I rotate with the cross pattern; screw what the manual says.

Whatever the door jam sticker says I run: 32 F&R. Check when coldest in the morning.

    Alignment?

    Rotation schedule?

    Own a good pressure gauge?

Do a tread chalk test and adjust as needed.

The PSI is for load requirements.

    Feathering is due to alignment.

PS- Holy crap!!! I just noticed you're averaging 47 MPG on your R1200! I average 39-41 (I might ride way too fast).
