I'm so glad I found this thread. That rattle has been driving me nuts for about two months now. After reading through this entire thread, I agree that the problem seems to be with the foam tape installed on the inner side of the passenger A-Pillar. Specifically because the Toyota-installed tape is simply placed up and over the little plastic ribs on the trim piece. This allows a portion of the tape to not adhere to the trim and is likely the cause of the noise. Here is the solution I used to fix it which I think is very simple.

Once you have removed the A-Pillar trim, completely remove the foam tape installed by Toyota. Then, using a brand new piece of foam weatherstrip tape (I used 3/4" x 7/16" rubber foam weatherstrip tape from Home Depot $4.18), lay the strip along the entire length of the trim piece but DO NOT stick it down yet. At each rib, cut a slit in the foam tape to allow the tape to sit completely against the main part of the trim piece. Once you have cut slits for each rib, now stick the tape firmly to the trim piece and reinstall it in the truck. Hopefully the pictures below better illustrate what I'm babbling about.

So far, I've only taken it for a test drive in 60 degree temps, but the sound that has annoyed me for months is gone. I'll update if the sound returns on a colder morning. Thanks for all the insight guys, this sound has been making me crazy.

FYI, I had a big box of velcro laying around, I originally bought it at lowes. I started taking off various panels, window switches in the doors, front door panels, etc..The loop strips of the velcro makes a great noise/vibration dampner, can be cut to fit really well, is cheap, and the adhesive on it is very sticky. I highly recommend using the velco.

I have had this problem for over a year. Toyota replaced the speaker gasket/cover, but the problem returned about a month later. I've shown this thread to them. Today I was able to repro the issue with the service manager in the passenger seat, and so they are trying some adhesive-backed felt between the pieces that are rattling. I'll know whether or not the fix was good the morning when it gets cold again.

Center console divider thingy, rubber bed mat and side steps for the wife.
Quick question, how do you remove the two pass side A pillar covers that cover the bolts?

Easiest with a thin plastic trim removal tool. Small flat screwdriver will do, also. You may even be able to use your fingernails. Maybe. There are videos online. Taco tunes??? I can’t remember for sure.

Toyota told me that they took the whole dash apart and installed the Toyota Noise Kit to all joints. The invoice says they used Toyota part number 08231-00801, which may be excessive. Really what is that but a few rolls of 3m adhesive foam tape and pads? Anyway it was a very cold morning this morning and there is no rattle. I'll report back if the rattle returns for any reason.

I thankfully fixed mine when I replaced the factory tweeters. It was either the speaker cover or the pillar tape was loose. Once replaced, the rattle was gone and I didn't do anything special. If it starts again, I'll first look at replacing the tape.

I have a rattle somewhere near the speaker in the passenger side door, only happens when I'm on the gas. Took it to the dealership and they told me it was due to the aftermarket shocks and tires I put on.

I can confirm that this fixed the issue for me. Two and a half months of winter cold (as cold as it gets in NC anyways) and there has been zero rattle.

I appreciate the follow-up boss. I am in Texas and rarely have temps that cold but the last few weeks have been aggravating.
