Noice! I was actually about to buy a set of the side shooters when I found my D2's for a steal of a deal in the for sale section here. Super happy with them so far.

Does the side light throw a bunch of glare on your hood?

    They are side specific.

So the left sprays light way out left and the right is also going away from the hood.

The way I have them aligned pointing outwards some...They hardly throw any light on the hood

    :)

I'm sure there's a reason for running clear other than you like shelling out cash?

Isnit just for protection or to keep them cleaner? I imagine unless there's a good gasketed seal dust still gets behind the cover?

The clear cover protects from rocks, bugs, and other things hitting the lights.

I guess that makes sense, I just always figured it's already a tough enough lens and a rock chip or two really wouldn't effect output so never really considered it, guess it's cheap insurance on an expensive light though. How much were they?

9.99 each +shipping from Rigid. Supposedly Cali Raised is coming out with covers for their side projectors, but the Rigid covers fit them.

They are $10 each cover and a thick heavy duty plastic. They protect the expensive lights from damage. I'd much rather have to replace covers than the lights themselves.

Rigid sells the covers in many colors, even solid black and solid white where some state laws require a cover while driving on public roads.

Thank you. I've worked hard to create an informative post. What did you find most useful if you don't mind me asking.

I came to find that the SDHQ will be the closest to the pillar while also being low profile which is what I want for sure. No way you could tell that between brands just by googling images. I also did not know that some of them require cutting/drilling some plastic which I am not a fan of. I was originally going to buy ones for a good price, now I am set on the more expensive ones but with good reason.

    Thanks again

    This and that...
Just ordered these. Rago now has a hood mount for the 2005-2015 which looks lower profile than the Relentless Fab and cheaper than SDHQ. $58 powdered coated and free shipping right now. They look to have a quality design process too. image_d1f3bfe1-b21e-47aa-8db2-79a9ce4cdf10_1155x.jpg

Awesome addition. I will update the OP to reflect their new option. I did notice for the time being they have a 2-4 week lead time on them. Did you find that to be true? Or did you get them sooner than their lead time?
