    Henniker Brewing Flap Jack - Maple Double Brown Ale. A solid maple brown ale. This is the only beer that I've had from this brewery, but I'll try some of thier other beers based on how good this one is.

    Never would of tried a sour with it. Now i will.

    The only way i can drink bud light is with it. Its good on cervesas and bloodymerrys as well!

    My 3 hour goal is for all grain. Nothing against DME except it isn't cheap and I am. I also plan on canning wort for starters at some point. Part of my winter plans. Lol

    "winter" beers aren't really my thing but this one is pretty good so far. It's still pretty cold so I may feel differently as it warms

    I used to get home by 5:30 and be done by 10:00 and thought that was pretty good, iirc it went something like this.

    Heat up water for mash/sparge 20+ minutes Mill grain during this time.
    mash in 10 minutes subtotal 30
    Rest 30 sub 60
    sparge 45 sub 105
    boil 90 sub 195 usual wasn't right at boil with kettle full either
    wort chill 20 total 215 Can't recall this time well, had an immersion chiller for awhile then made a counterflow

    Sure you can boil for 60 but I liked a better boil down.

    How are you planning on getting to 180?

    The brewery (Alvarado Street) actually provides a small bottle of Tajin in their 4 packs. I would have never tried it with a sour either. Pretty damn good though.
