So the Silverado was making a sound somewhere between rubbing and howling. Turns out the ac belt tensioner bearings were shot. So we changed both belts and the tensioner. I did buy a new compressor in case that was bad also, but it's looking like I can take that back and get a couple hundred $ added back to my card. I'll let my son or wife drive it around for a couple days just to make sure the compressor wasn't part of that noise.

Mornings people's.
After much review of the situation and massaging with hammers and channel locks,
That POS blind spot monitor is finally aligned on the vertical and horizontal plane.
Then some more massaging on its axis to align its beam center to the proper orientation
to the reflector target.
Yea the body and mounting bracket look like shit now but the bumper will cover it.
I told the body shop do not touch it, don't look at it, just put the bumper cover on.
I told them the next time the rear get slammed on anything with blind spot or backup,do not put the bumper cover on until we get the system centered and adjusted. Putting all new parts on a wrecked car does not mean it will line up when your dealing with 1 degree increments.
Body shop would not have been happy seeing me bending sheet metal with pry bars..

 

Happy hump day, got some cold nasty rain today, makes my bones feel old.Enjoy the day, or at least try.

 

Not good he was admitted quickly yesterday. Blood platelets way down on count. Running many tests, took 12 different vials of blood from him, eight in one draw that I witnessed. Dad is very weak and can't even stand up on his own. This time has me scared. He was surrounded by family and love yesterday. One RN joked that each time he walked past there was another person in to see Dad so no lack of support! Thanks for asking, and thanks for prayers from everyone.
