I want to upgrade my in-dash stereo on my 2013 Tacoma. I have a couple of requests but I'm not sure how to word them in searching for them.

    - Navigation that will work off my phones data.
    - Have app capability (spotify, weather....etc)
    - The ability to update the software. (preferably run by a known software platform)
    - It goes without saying, it should be well built.

    Any suggestions???

    Thanks

    Josh

Kenwood I've been led to believe have the fastest double din units; some double din units can be unbearably slow when selecting from the menus. However if you have half a days worth of time I would recommend going to some car audio shops and just browse the units they have set up in demos.

android radio and google maps, cant beat it. Especially with traffic updates in real time. Huge price difference then over priced Kenwoods or Pioneers. I had mine for 2 years going strong

Highly recommend the Sony XAV-ax100. I dont plan on upgrading the speaker system, I just wanted it for a backup cam and bluetooth calling (I have an 07). I was going back and forth between the Kenwood 9903s, Sony and an Android head unit for a few months. I initially purchased an Atoto A6 unit but pulled it out after a week. The Atoto sounded pretty good and the features were great, but it was so buggy it was pretty much unusable.

I like the Sony because the interface is so clean and simple. The screen is pretty nice and i never experience any lag. Carplay works great too for Spotify, calls, and voice texts. Also I really like the volume knob. I really couldnt ask for anything else for what I needed.

Went to the seicane site. Couldn't find a specific fit for Taco. I think the video was for a Subaru. Is there a link to the specific unit that you are using?

no they don't have anything specific for Tacoma but I have a universal in mine. I will take a pic right now. Just use Scosche or Metra bezel

That Sony couldn't touch what this radio can do! Whatever your phone does this does!!!!! and its cheaper. I paid $315 for mine I got the gps front and rear cameras usb stick with it aswell and you can mirror your phone if you want. Google maps with live traffic, I mean you cant go wrong!

I just installed my Sony XAV-AX100. Quick question - Do you just leave the other plug from the OEM radio unplugged? It looks like it has 4 brownish wires. Not sure what they're for? Mine is an '05 with no steering wheel controls, gps, or XM.

My Joying unit came in. It will not fit in the Scosche dash kit. The head unit is slightly wider 178mm than the dash kit width 174mm. Height is good. Buddyof mine is going to mill the dash kit to a wider width. I bought the 7" Joying unit with octacore processor.
