steering wheel noise

    has anyone noticed the plastic plug or cap that is located under your left pinky (if your hands were at 10 and 2 on the wheel) making noise while turning? it appears to mirror the opening for the cruise control lever that is on the opposite side except that this one is plugged with a poorly fitting plastic cap that rattles at every turn of the steering wheel.

    wondering if mine is unique or if anyone has a quick fix short of just removing it
