What purpose does the dealer serve in the transaction if they can't ensure every unit is checked and topped off before the customer drives off.

I didn't mean to piss anyone off obviously some people just can't handle truth.
A duck is a duck a Toyota. Low on fluid is a Toyota .doesn't matter who checked the fluids prior to delivery.
Now if I was. 500 miles from where I took delivery and fried the engine because someone didn't do their job either at the dealer or the manufacturers. Who do I ask to take care of the damaged engine the dealer who didn't do their job or the manufacture ?
Who is ultimately responsible the people who engaged the dealer The manufacturer.
Be it Toyota Ford or your boat manufacture!

The person who did the PDI is responsible, end of story. Doesn't matter who short filled it at the manufacturing level. If its on the list to check, then its the person who checked (or didn't) it. And it doesn't have anything to do with Toyota, it could have been a MB, Audi, or even FORD tech making the same mistakes.

Mistakes happen. This is why I always do maintenance myself and even did a walk thru of the PDI with the tech because i just don't trust people.

It didn't piss me off, the thing I would like you to understand is this is a dealership problem, not a Toyota problem. This same issue can happen with any manufacturer, it is the dealers responsibility to check these items.
If you were to blow the engine up, the first thing Toyota corporate warranty department would ask is who checked the PDI sheet. That would then be between the dealer and Toyota.

Guys... My 2016 came in with low fluids in the...tranny/front diff/rear diff/......no to very little grease in the driveshaft... Under-torqued "U" bolts.

Tires over-inflated... The dealers do not do a proper PDI....!! (they wash it and peel of the plastic shit and install the driver's mat)...hehe

They wait till you bring it back busted up and file a warranty claim with Ma Toyota..!! Win/Win for them... they get your truck back and get paid to fix it..!!

I checked my truck after delivery and asked to have the tranny fluid physically checked.... They said NO...,

Never been back and filled it myself along with all the other things that they did not bother to check/verify...!

The way I look at this... "It's MY truck"..(dealer don't give 2 F's about it).. I'm the only one who gives a "F" .... If I do it, it's done right... and I know it, cuz I did it... hehe..!!

Bottom line, Toyota failed to fill it properly to begin with. The dealer failed to check. Both parties are at fault from the top down. Toyota first, it left their factory like that. The "It isn't Toyota's fault" is pure bullshit. QA/QC and performing your job to the best of your ability is the problem. I could understand one or two out of an entire line like that but my transmission fluid was low from the factory, 5 quarts. Other people had the same problem. It's Toyota's fault for letting it leave like that and the dealer's fault for not performing the PDI.

Your right, any manufacturer can have these problems, that doesn't make it right. Let the fan boy bullshit go out the door.
