I've seen that the mud terrain has red on it. I definitely don't want that.

The only generals I see on here people buy for the red so I'm not sure otherwise what's available black/white/etc.

I guess I need to go to a local tire shop and look at an AT2. I only need the all terrain but I definitely don't want white, red, purple, green whatever letters. I was looking for a cheaper option than the BFG's. The Generals aren't that much cheaper but they are 1 pound lighter per tire. I'll go with the BFG's again if the Generals don't have a black sidewall.

you're running KOs correct? I haven't checked the prices, but I've heard good things about Falken and Toyo ATs. Not trying to make a dig at you, but if it's not going to be for much wheeling I'd just get one with a higher mileage rating. That's why I got the KO2s when I did, rated for 50k+ miles and cheaper than the michelins I was looking at back then.

Correct. I installed these March 18, 2013. They have definitely lasted and were well worth the money. I'll check into those other brands. Do I even worry with another brand though or stick with what has lasted me almost 4 years now. I'll need tires this summer because these will be spent by then.

very true, if I wasn't wheeling more and more I would go right back to the KO2's as they have been fantastic for me. it's hard to go to a different brand. my old truck I ran the Hankook Dynapro MTs for nearly 50k miles (granted an 89 toyota pickup weighs A LOT less than tacomas nowadays) so I've even been looking at those as a potential tire...too many options makes it hard to choose.

Yep. I ran Mickey Thompson Baja Radials on my 01 Tacoma and they didn't last at all. Seriously maybe a year and a half. Switched to BFG's way back then and haven't looked back. I'd be pissed if I bought Generals and they didn't last at least 4 years. That being said I feel like I remember in a thread somewhere on here that the new KO2's aren't lasting as long as the KO's. I can't stand tire shopping.

When mine went on, I requested the white letters out.

    Good tire choice, btw.

EDIT: After I read through the red text comments I remembered that they must have come out with a newer version of the tire since I bought mine and therefore, can only assume that the BSW side still exists.

Hahaha. How long have you had them? So they have both BSW and OWL since a rebel request was made.

My KO2s have just about 60,000 miles on them, and still have 5 - 7,000 miles of tread left.

They are great tires, and I will replace them with the same tire.

PS - I've heard (and seen) horrible things with Hankooks - you couldn't give me a set. YMMV

I'm having similar success out of my KO2s.

I'm surprised to hear that about the Hankooks, mine were great. As I stated though they were on a much lighter weight truck. They're also pricey so idk if I'll go that route.

Love my falkens. Not sure if they will last as long as the kbro2's. But for the price they are awesome

There are four engineers traveling in a car; a mechanical engineer, a chemical engineer, an electrical engineer and a computer engineer. The car breaks down.

"Sounds to me as if the pistons have seized. We'll have to strip down the engine before we can get the car working again", says the mechanical engineer.

"Well", says the chemical engineer, "it sounded to me as if the fuel might be contaminated. I think we should clear out the fuel system."

"I thought it might be an grounding problem", says the electrical engineer, "or maybe a faulty plug lead."

They all turn to the computer engineer who has said nothing and say: "Well, what do you think?" "Ummm perhaps if we all get out of the car and get back in again?"
