I just used some harbor freight wheel chocks.

Lol I planned on chocking the fronts anyway. But as a second safety measure. Recently had a jack move and collapse when jacking up my father's car. Not looking to take any chances.

 

I usually have it in 4wd for when I forget to break the lugs loose before I Jack it up

 

Oh that's a good reason in itself. When I forget, I lower it back down and loosen. Would be nice to avoid it.
4WD it is then. Better safe than sorry. Lucked out recently, but ya never know next time.

Just got home. I pull up to air down and there’s boats everywhere with birds working. I get on the beach and they’re already moving south. Looks like I missed the blitz by like 20 mins.

 

So I got the rear brake line on and brakes bled. Should be good now. Pedal might feel a tad soft at the top, but I honestly can't tell if it's any different. It's always been like that. I'll have to see on my regular drives. Either way, that's done.

But while I was under there, I noticed these.



I am guessing they're relatively new, as I've looked there before and never noticed them. Regardless, what would be the best method of addressing this? IDK if it's the appropriate fix for this or if they will fit around the legs of the sliders.

Yeah the 2 holes for sure. The driver's side is bigger. The surrounding area doesn't feel too bad on passenger side, but the driver's side feels a little worse. Didn't (read:couldn't bring myself to) stress test either spot.

 

Just go get your new frame and then put the lift on.

 

What's the criteria/cut off to get new frame through Toyota for the 1st gens? I know at least of one 1st gen (2001) that got a frame replacement with in the last year or so...
