Ok, I have a 2000 Toyota Tacoma Prerunner V6 Extracab that is shaking when accelerating and going over when going over 50. Also that my check engine light flashes when I accelerate. My antifreeze keeps disappearing somewhere. Here's the moral story, Like I said it started shaking so I got it towed to a mechanic who used to do a good job. What happened was he said it's fine and I could keep driving it. Then it got worst so then I took it to my Toyota Dealer to see if they could diagnose it. They said they would have to replace the radiator to find out if its the head gasket or a cylinder head or block. Of course they said it's about $987 to replace the radiator. I don't have that much money so i'm seeing if I could get a opinion on what it is. Also that when it warms up like 15 minutes later it starts to shake.
    Thanks

What is the code logged when the cell appears?

Stay away from that dealership, as if that's really what they said, they ate either idiots or thieves.

What did the mechanic say was the shaking cause? Or could he not replicate?

When was your last tune up?

Pressure test the cooling system. Compression test the engine. Your symptoms may be related. Or not.

Always start simple and work up.

    * BTW * Anyone voting for either choice in your poll is taking a complete WAG. While it could turn out they are correct, there is not enough data given. Nor adequate preliminary testing done.

And, now that you've added info on plugs/wires being crapped out, did that solve the higher speed miss/lack of acceleration? That symptom is also something that occurs with a clogged fuel filter. Faster you go, more fuel is needed, and it's not able to deliver.

Yeah, it was T&T auto in Monterey,CA. He said the spark plugs were shot so I replaced them and oil change. It was about 3 spark plugs that were bad. He could not replicate too. Got new spark plug cables too.

Bilstein 5100's front and back. OME 880 front coils. General HD rear springs. Fuel 16x8 Enduro rims. Dick Cepek Extreme Country 285/75/16's Some kind of headers. K&N cold air intake.
Flashing CEL is caused by a catalyst damaging misfire. That is the only code that will cause the light to flash.

Is it common for the head gasket or cylinder head on the truck I have?
