Rear Leaf Springs

So i was sitting in geology... haha. Anyway I'm dazing off thinking about the yota and I was wondering if anyone knows the rear spring length eye-eye of the stock leaves? I'm going to put the billies on the front and I need to lift the rear, the springs are shot anyways. Has anyone built a bastard pack for rear lift? Or tried to find another stock spring pack that will fit there? I really don't care about the ride quality, I haul a lot of shit and use my truck as a truck. Thanks guys.

go out, get under the truck and measure. you want to try to build yourself a leaf pack?

like stated above, just get a new leaf pack or add an add a leaf pack to your current leafs.

 

hey fellas, if my rear leafs are pretty much straight when the truck is sitting unloaded would i be able to use an ALL or should i just go with an all new pack?

 

My understading is that once they have no positve arch (smile, not frown), it is too late for an AAL.

First off, if you don't have anything constructive to tell me or any way to help me out besides re-stating the already stated then why do you feel the need to post in this thread?

I know how to measure the damn length... this ain't my first rodeo, cowboy. I was more curious if anyone knew it off the top of their head seeing how I was sitting in a class. Also I'm not going to just AAL because once again, as I stated above, they have a pretty good negative arch already. Yes I would like to build a leaf pack, I've done it for other rigs plenty of times. Why would I go buy something if I could build it? I would buy an alcan lift pack if I wasn't on a college sized budget, but I am.

You must have dazed off in math as well. Because of the springs arc how can you get a single correct measurement without giving more details of when to take the measurement? Flat, on truck, off truck, no load, some load, how much of a load.

Yes, I started this thread while sitting in a class.

I've done this on other rigs, like my '71 K10 chevy. I was asking because if someone has already done this I wouldn't have to go do all the work again, and post up how sweet it is just to have someone post a link saying it's been done on someone's build thread.

Also, no I'm a Civil Engineering major, so I've probably taken as much or math than anyone on this forum. That has nothing to do with measuring a leaf. You can measure the length of the spring, eye to eye, with a cloth tape. Then measure the mount points on the frame and the length of the shackles... just sayin.
